Today, I went to the Rally in Support of Our Troops in New York City!

It was an immensely successful turnout! Several people brought their country's respective coalition flags - Britain, Puerto Rican, American, Poland, Australian etc.

Uncle Sam, Old Glory, even America's Bald Eagle and several veterans were there from Korea, Vietnam, WWII, etc. to continue to show their support for this country and our troops! Several representatives of the Maritime Seamen Group were there, and also other contractors who supply our troops!

Familes of the victims of 9/11 were there as well as familes who have people in Iraq, Afganistan, and other troubled areas. Some of the slogans that were heard were:

"Support Our Country, Support our President, Support our Troops! The price of freedom is being paid now! Thousands of us were killed in 9/11, downtown."

There were several of New York City's Firemen and Policemen who passed by the throngs on Times Square and blew horns showing support, and everytime they passed the crowds were hooting and hollering. The crowds were cheering - USA USA USA! God Bless America, our President and Our Troops! Tony Blair was mentioned and cheered several times, along with our gratitude to our national security advisors.

There was an old woman in the midst of the crowd with a sign saying, American G.I.'s Freed me in 1945, and now they are Freeing the Iraqi People - God Bless America!

I was also there today. My entire family came to support our troops and our country. It was a great turnout. A few peacnicks came by to start some trouble. I saw one arguing with a lady and then push her. The cops took care of the problem right away. Man are these peacenicks violent.

Yes, these peaceniks do tend to be violent when confronted with a different opinion. They are incensed that you don't see how superior and right they are.

Just got back from the rally. It was great to see so many flags and patriots in one place. A good time was had by all.

There were about 2000 people there, which could be better, but was better than last year's 100. Lot's of patriotic songs, good speeches, from what I could hear of them, and a good sunny day for it.

What did you guys think of the rally? I wish I'd had a freerepublic.com sign. Some of the people there didn't seem to know about us. For the next one, I'll make sure to make signs and do some flier-work in my area and in the city, where I work.

I was there and took a photos and video of the event. I got great footage of our crowd singing "God Bless America". I will try to get some of the footage on my mac.com website tonight or tomorrow. I also have footage from the anti-American march in NYC yesterday.

I saw Judy Woodrith (sp?) on CNN and she mentioned that rallies were sponsored by Free Republic. She sounded nasty when she mentioned Free Republic as if she was disgusted by the name.

God Bless all of you New Yorkers who stood tall for our great country, our brave troops and our good President! This former NY'r wishes I could have been there with you. It's great to see the "politically correct" left can't hold down patriotic Americans! God Bless you!

Well, I was there, but left early when the Mrs. showed, anyhow, I had a good time for my first Freep. I was in the ROTC hat that had seen better days (it's a nostalgic piece) but all in all, I loved it, and I hope to see many of you at the next Freep!

I was at the Times Square Rally yesterday - and I was told the next pro-troop rally would be in front of the UN from 2:00 pm to 4:00. I've been looking for some more formal announcement though.
